A Day on Brancaster Beach
National Trust owned Brancaster beach, with its wide expanse of golden sands is perfect for summer sandcastles or wilder winter wanders for those who like sea air.
Dogs welcome!
Dogs and responsible owners are very much welcome on Brancaster Beach – as they are at The Ship Hotel. There is a small dog-free zone May to September to the left of the entrance once you walk onto the beach but the rest is there for you and your four-legged friends to enjoy. The National Trust just as that you keep dogs under close control at all times and clear up after them. Dog bins are available next to the toilets.
Kite surfing
Kite surfing on Brancaster Beach is a popular pastime, though kites and buggies are restricted to certain zones to ensure visitor safety and enjoyment. Click here for more information.
Car Park
It’s a 17 minute walk to the beach from the Hotel, but if you’re planning to spend a chunk of time on Brancaster Beach, you might want to drive. there is a car park, though charges apply, including for National Trust members. It tends to be very busy, so we advise getting an early start after one of our fabulous breakfasts!
Other facilities
The toilets at the beach are currently open 6am to 6pm and are found next to the car park. There is an accessible toilet that can be accessed by a Radar key. Please note that the toilets are closed periodically during the day for cleaning.
The kiosk opposite the car park has all your seaside essentials including ice cream, teas, coffees, buckets and spades.
The most important thing…
When you’re ready to leave the beach, don’t forget to get back to The Ship in time for dinner!
