Head Housekeeper (Full-time)

JOB TITLE: Head Housekeeper

LOCATION: Ship Hotel, Main Road, Brancaster, PE31 8AP

REPORTING TO: Head Housekeeper

HOURS OF WORK:  45 hours per week (Full-time)

  • We can provide accommodation for the right candidates based in nearby Thornham. We can provide an electric bike for you to get to and from The Ship.


  • To be responsible for rota and wages
  • Checking on room attendants and instruct them on a daily basis of their tasks and duties.
  • Handling guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally
  • Supervising and training housekeeping staff
  • Inspecting rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness
  • Ordering and managing inventory of cleaning supplies
  • To abide by Health and Safety Regulations as required by Law
  • To ensure high standards of cleaning are achieved in all designated housekeeping areas.
  • To ensure the hotel bedrooms, corridors and public areas are cleaned and checked to the highest standards required at all times.
  • Report maintenance problems immediately. Understand the procedure for rejecting linen. Use chemicals correctly.
  • To abide by Health & Safety Regulations as required by law.
  • Any other reasonable requests.
  • General knowledge of hotel e.g. restaurant opening times.


  • Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role within the hospitality industry
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and a focus on quality service delivery


    • Experience in a similar role is essential, however, full training will be provided. The perfect candidate must be willing to learn, have the right attitude, be flexible and have a passion for high-quality customer service.
